Talk Show Host: Alfie Neale

When we included Alfie Neale in our Class of 2019 at the start of the year we were hopeful that he’d go on to bigger and better things. However, we weren’t aware that he’d go on to achieve so much so quickly. Not only has he headlined Brighton’s The Haunt in front of 350 people, but he’s released the brilliant ‘Tongue Tied’ too, a song we described as bringing “a touch more of a creative hip-hop vibe to proceedings”. Now the Brighton-based artist has released a brand-new single, ‘White Gates’, which we’re delighted to premiere below. This time taking influences from jungle and reggae sounds, it seems there’s nothing that Neale can’t do. Continue reading “Talk Show Host: Alfie Neale”

Talk Show Host: Scrounge

Made up of Lucy and Luke, South East duo Scrounge revel in the unexpected. We were massively impressed with their latest single, ‘Crimson’. Raw, yet extremely talented, Scrounge have flown straight into our ones to watch list. Talk Show Host: Kita Menari

We’ve had Netherlands outfit Kita Menari on our radar for a long time now, but it wasn’t until 2019 single ‘Pretty Sure’ where we really sat up and took notice. A brilliantly euphoric slice of jangly indie pop, it’s already one of our favourite songs of the year. We spoke to frontman and mastermind of the five-piece Micha de Jonge about the band’s origin, ‘Pretty Sure’, touring the Netherlands and his hangover prevention tactics. Talk Show Host: la lune

If you thought Islington’s The Hope and Ruin was just one of the many strongholds still trying to keep pub rock alive in London, Attic Events’ gig last November could have changed your mind for good.  We went down to the show to get a taste of la lune’s vibrant, dreamy indie pop, and we caught up with Olivia Judd, the name and the face behind the project, to chat about her plans for 2019, living and working in the music business as a young woman, and her take on the best way to match a vegan lifestyle with a nasty hungover.
